Emma Castricum
Emma is an experienced Occupational Therapist who also specialises in Parent Support and Adult Mental Health.
Emma supports families with parenting strategies for all age groups. Empowering and educating parents and caregivers to find ways to help their child and family flourish. She holds a strong focus on helping parents to connect to their past experiences and understand how their own perceptions, beliefs, triggers and patterns can impact their parenting journey.
Parents are provided with the time and space to speak about their worries and concerns in a truly supportive and compassionate environment. Parent and carer coaching and consultations are available as a short-term block of sessions and use evidence-informed approaches to help parents navigate their parenting journey. This includes weekly OR fortnightly TELEHEALTH sessions with Emma to work towards the following goals:
– Understanding your child’s unique sensory profile, their behaviours and responding to them in ways that encourage healthy development of skills.
– Strength based parenting
– Reading and responding to your child’s signs of stress
– Strengthening relationships and attunement skills
– Developing structure and routines
– Oppositional behaviour
– Creating a home environment to support your child’s developmental needs
– Understanding and making sense of your child’s developmental profile
– Eating and feeding
– Sleep and settling
Her goal is to empower her clients with tools, resilience strategies, and a deeper understanding of self and their children. She holds a strong focus on helping parents to connect to their past experiences and understand how their own perceptions, beliefs, triggers and patterns can impact their parenting journey.
Emma’s hope is that parents will experience less worry, guilt, self-judgement and second-guessing and regain their joy, confidence, and hope as a nurturing leader for their children.
